Wyoming Rocks!
Yes, they are. Overall Wyoming is not the most dramatic of states. I now know, having spent most of my day in it.
Ted liked the last shot out of the rear of the train, so here's another one.
There are some fairly interesting rock formations. In this valley they sort of pop up in these people's backyards.
Hey Hal -- do we work with Renewable Products Marketing Group? They have nice tank cars.
This little fellow came running past the train while we were stopped. Not clear where he was going. Other wildlife sightings today were limited to a herd of buffalo. At least that's what the announcement said, calling our attention to it. From a distance, it looked like a herd of dirt on the window.
I was looking forward to the climb up Sherman Hill -- 7K feet, highest point on the Union Pacific. The scenic section was brief. This is a famous cut where the mainlines diverge.
We're picking up quite a batch of new passengers in Denver. That's Sue, my she-wolf of a porter, checking somebody in. Actually, she's very nice and attentive. Sounds exactly like Amy Ledoux, our ASAE client.
Can't see much of Denver from the train. The station is nice, a new dramatic train shed…
Next to a distinguished old station.
Overnight we will traverse Nebraska. I'm not regretful that I will miss it while sleeping.
