Oh. Rain.
Day 3, somewhere between Rugby and Minot, North Dakota. 1:03 late.
This is Big Sky country but at this point the big sky is full of clouds. There's a whole lot of not much out here but it has a certain charm. I don't expect the early part of today to be the most exciting phase of the trip. But I didn't really go this way for excitement.
I succumbed to the dining car for breakfast. The food is reasonably tasty and Amtrak thoughtfully has listed calories on each entrée. I'm not sure how accurate the calorie counts are -- the French Toast came in at 430. Perhaps that's just for the Toast, not the French.
Had a nice conversation with a couple from Wisconsin. They are headed to a grandson's graduation in Everett, WA. This might be a relatively practical way to get from Wisconsin to Washington state -- otherwise you're probably doing multiple connections through large airports. And this way you can BYOB.
