Dinner in the Diner
…nothing could be finer than to have your ham and eggs in Carolina… now I can't get that song out of my head.
I was forcibly seated with three strangers, odd because they had four empty tables but I guess it's easier for them. My 8:30 seating reservation turned into 9:30, so dinner wasn't over until about 10:30. Everything seems to run proportionately late.
My companions included a railfan and a couple from England who were quite nice. Had spent the day in Washington in the brutal heat on Monday. I was going to take a picture of my dinner but it just didn't seem quite right to do so. Tonight I am going to open a bottle of wine that I brought with me.
We were up and down the Sand Patch grade during dinner. Couldn't see anything, but it was clear the train was working hard.
